Mr. Zhou received his B.S. in Chemistry from Peking University in 1989 and Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry from the University of Memphis in the U.S.A. in 2000. Mr. Zhou worked as an assistant researcher in the Cultural Relics Conservation Lab of the Beijing Palace Museum from 1989 to 1992. Later, he received a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and pursued his advanced studies and practice in Germany from 1992 to 1996. He was admitted as a postdoctoral fellow and pursued research in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Wyoming in the U.S.A. from 2000 to 2001. He joined CPA in 2002, and qualified as a patent attorney in 2004. Mr. Zhou received further training in the U.S. patent law and practice with a law firm in the United States in 2006. Mr. Zhou is skillful in drafting application documents in such fields as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and inorganic materials, and experienced in preparing responses to office actions in the substantive examination proceedings, and handling reexamination and invalidation cases in the above fields. Mr. Zhou speaks fluent German and English, and has a very good understanding of European and American culture and patent laws and practice. He is a member of All-China Patent Agents Association.
