5. Q: What remedy can a patentee get from a patent infringement case?

If the patentee wins the case, the court may: order the infringer immediately desist from its infringing act; and order the infringer compensate for the economic and other losses suffered by the patentee. In practice, the court may also, at its own discretion, issue a separate decision to confiscate the infringing products and/or to destroy tools and materials for manufacturing the infringing products.
