IAM Patent 1000 Names CPA & its Four Attorneys among World's Leading Firms & Professionals

China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) is pleased to share that CPA was recognised as a leading patent firm in China in the recently released 2016 edition of IAM Patent 1000, a guide compiled by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine on the world's leading players in the patent field.
CPA was ranked as a highly recommended firm in both patent litigation/licensing and patent prosecution practice in China. In the category of patent prosecution, our firm was one of only six in the country to be identified as "highly recommended" for the year. According to IAM, the criteria for a firm's entry to IAM Patent 1000 are its depth of expertise, market presence, and the level of work on which it is typically engaged. As for comments specific to our firm, IAM wrote:

"China Patent Agent has earned a venerable reputation on the IP scene by providing its myriad clients with on-point, effective and efficient services. Born in Hong Kong shortly after the establishment of the Chinese patent regime, the team of more than 200 patent attorneys has seen every kind of contentious and prosecution scenario under the sun. China Patent Agent has been at the forefront of increasing IP awareness in local companies. Each portfolio is handled with tremendous care."

In addition, CPA had four attorneys named to IAM Patent 1000 of the year. The selected CPA attorneys included our general manager Mr. Zeng Xiangling and deputy general manager Ms. Tina Tai, who are recommended attorneys in patent prosecution category, as well as Beijing office deputy director Mr. Wu Yuhe as a highly recommended attorney and Legal Affairs Department deputy manager Mr. Xiong Yanfeng as a recommended attorney in the category of patent litigation/licensing.
As pointed out by IAM, the leading practitioners are identified by their exceptional skill sets and profound insights into patent matters. The guide's comments on our selected attorneys read as follows:
"prosecution sage Xiangling Zeng is always in demand for his mechanical engineering nous"; "[p]harmaceutical concerns line up to enlist chemist Tina Tai for her drafting acumen"; "[m]ore than two decades of high-profile courtroom victories account for just one line on Yuhe Wu's illustrious CV; the deputy director of the Beijing office often converts his pharmaceutical chemistry training and courtroom experience into perspicacious legal commentaries and advice on reform projects"; and "[c]ompanies with electronics and mechanical patent portfolios seek out Yanfeng Xiong when cross-border disputes arise: 'He gives confidence to clients in the most daunting of circumstances.' "
IAM Patent 1000 2016 was derived following a research process over five months, during which about 1,500 interviews were conducted with attorneys at law, patent attorneys, and in-house counsel across 46 key jurisdictions of the world.
