Mr. YU Hualiang
Patent Attorney, Attorney-at-Law


Mr. Yu received, from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, his B.S. in Electronics Engineering in 2005 and his M.S. in IC Design in 2008. For his graduate project, Hualiang designed and implemented a LDPC encoder as specified in IEEE 802.16e standard. He also published several papers on LDPC design and electronic measurement. He was qualified as a patent attorney in 2008, and has been admitted to practice law since 2015.

Mr. Yu joined China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. in January 2009. During the years of 2016-2017, he worked as an in-house IP counsel in a Fortune Global 500 enterprise in Shanghai. He has prepared and prosecuted hundreds of domestic and overseas patent applications, and participated in appeals before courts at all court levels, and oral hearings for reexamination and invalidation.

Hualiang focuses his practice on patent-related issues in the fields of telecommunication, computer networks, and integrated circuits, among others. He is skillful in IP portfolio management, IP counseling, value contribution and value acquisition. He was involved in series of infringement litigation and invalidation over GSM/GPRS essential patent on behalf of a world-renowned European telecommunication company, and worked as a lead attorney on behalf of a US company in series of invalidation disputes over 2G/3G/4G patents.

Mr. Yu is a member of All-China Patent Agents Association. Working languages: Chinese and English.
