Mr. XIONG Yanfeng

Mr. Xiong received his B. S. in Opto-electrical Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2001. During 2006-2007, he earned his LLM in IP Laws from Franklin Pierce Law Center (New Hampshire, the United States) and worked as an international guest at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP (North Virginia, the United States). He passed the U.S. patent bar in 2007 and the China patent bar in 2008.
Mr. Xiong joined China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd in 2002. His practice focuses on patent prosecution, invalidation and litigations in the fields of electronics, telecommunications and mechanics fields. In particular, He has rich experience in handling Standard Essential Patent (SEP) litigation and invalidation for multinationals in telecommunication field. Mr. Xiong has had satisfactory records at China courts as well as Patent Reexamination Board, and a number of his patent litigation cases are recognized by the Supreme Court and Beijing High Court as representative cases.
Mr. Xiong was invited to provide the Chinese courts, including Supreme Court, with opinions regarding the judicial interpretation on patent related matters. He participated AIPPI’s comparative studies on patent indirect infringement and patent non-obvious issues. He has more than 10 publications on various aspects of patent on magazines including Managing IP, China Patent and Trademark, and China IP Magazine.
Mr. Xiong is now serving as the president of Chinese Enforcement group of AIPPI. He is a council member of the China Intellectual Property Society (CIPS), a member of All-China Patent Agents Association and Licensing Executive Society (LES) China, and a member of Supreme Court’s appointed experts in study group of case laws.
