Enterprises and Universities from Shenzhen & Hong Kong Discuss the Formation of IP Operation Alliance
On 5 September 2023, six enterprises from Shenzhen and six universities from Hong Kong held an online meeting discussing the formation of a Shenzhen and Hong Kong alliance on intellectual property (IP) operation. The alliance aims at promoting the transformation and commercialisaiton of scientific and technological achievements by leveraging the complementary advantages of Shenzhen and Hong Kong, with an initial plan of building an IP operation platform to normalise the matching of supply and demand for IPs.
The alliance is led by the Qianhai International Intellectual Property Comprehensive Operation Service Center ("Qianhai International"), and comprises twelve initiators from Shenzhen and Hong Kong, namely, China Resources Corporate Service Limited, Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd., Tencent Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd., China Nuclear Power Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics Co., Ltd., Hong Kong Polytechnic University, City University of Hong Kong, University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Baptist University.
In addition to the mentioned enterprises and universities, a number of Shenzhen universities and research institutes, high tech enterprises, industry associations, and investment funds such as Southern University of Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), BGI-Research, SEG Smartechs, Shenzhen Promotion Association for Small and Medium Enterprises, and Shenzhen Angel FOF have submitted their application to join the alliance; and some Hong Kong institutions including the Hong Kong Federation of Innovative Technologies and Manufacturing Industries and the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Exchange have indicated their intention to be members of the alliance.
