CPA Attends 2024 Trilateral Meeting of AIPPI Japan, China and Korea
On 28-30 June 2024, the Trilateral Meeting of AIPPI Japan, China and Korea was held in Okayama, Japan, which was attended by more than a hundred IP practitioners from China, Japan and South Korea.
Our firm China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) participated in the event with a delegation consisting of our general manager Mr. Wu Yuhe, also vice president of China branch of International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), Trademark Department manager Mr. Yang Jianzhong, and Mechanics and Designs Department deputy manager Mr. Zhang Yu.
The meeting was presided over by Mr. Hitoshi Abe, vice president of AIPPI Japan. And the opening addresses were delivered by AIPPI International president Dr. Shoichi Okuyama, AIPPI China vice president Mr. Long Chuanhong, AIPPI Korea president Mr. Seong Tahk Ahn, and AIPPI Japan president Mr. Yuzuru Okabe.
This trilateral meeting focused on the discussion of three topics: "updates on intellectual property systems in each country"; "harmonization of disclosure requirements and consequences of non-compliance"; and "conflicts between composite trademarks including non-distinctive elements". CPA Mechanics and Designs Department deputy manager Mr. Zhang contributed to the first topic with a presentation on updates of IP systems in China.
The next meeting has been scheduled to be held in Gyeongju, South Korea in June 2025.
