CPA Attends 2025 INTA Annual Meeting

On 17-21 May 2025, the 147th Annual Meeting of the International Trademark Association (INTA) was held in San Diego, the US. This annual meeting was the largest post-epidemic international intellectual property (IP) event attracting more than 10,000 registrants from 140 jurisdictions including brand rights holders, IP professionals, government officials, business leaders, judges and scholars, providing an important platform for professional education and exchanges of insights as well as networking and business development opportunities for the global participants.

This annual meeting, themed "The Business of IP", highlighted the pivotal role that IP plays in driving innovation and business success, featuring over fifty educational sessions on three main tracks, namely, "business and technology", "law and policy", and "professional development" along with the newly introduced "in-house practitioners series" and "patent series".

(CPA) attended the event with an 8-member delegation comprising CPA deputy general manager Mr. Hu Gang, US Office senior trademark attorney Ms. Crystal Gao, International Filing Department deputy managers Mr. Li Yue and Ms. Rachel Zhang, Trademark Department deputy manager Ms. Nicole Yu, Legal Affairs Department deputy manager Mr. Li Tao, and senior trademark attorneys Mr. Justin Jiang and Ms. Tiffany Lu.

During the INTA annual meeting, CPA delegation members actively participated in roundtables, lectures, and workshops on a variety of topics, and took the opportunity to meet representatives from domestic and foreign enterprises and IP law firms of long-standing relationship, having in-depth exchanges with them in particular on the latest developments of trademark and legal industries in China and abroad. CPA delegates Ms. Rachel Zhang Lei, Mr. Li Yue, Ms. Nicole Yu and Mr. Justin Jiang respectively moderated roundtable discussions, engaging the participants in sharing of views relating to cutting-edge issues of the trademark and legal fields. CPA deputy general manager Mr. Hu Gang, in the capacity of INTA's board member, attended the board of directors meeting and voted on resolutions, and took part in INTA's exchange sessions with various IP Offices of the world. CPA delegation also attended the networking reception hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and helped bringing to attention the CCPIT-hosted China International Supply Chain Expo to be held in Beijing this coming July.
