CPA Deputy General Manager Recognised Among Hurun Legal - Greater China's Preeminent Recommended IP Lawyers  

On 31 March 2026, Hurun Research Institute launched its Hurun Legal – Greater China Legal Services Excellence Guide (Intellectual Property) ("the Guide") during the China Corporate Legal and Business Summit in Shanghai, announcing alongside the Greater China's Preeminent Recommended Lawyers (Intellectual Property). We are glad to share that Mr. Hu Gang, deputy general manager of our firm China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA), was on the preeminent lawyers list and named as an "Eminent Practitioner" (社会贤达).

This first edition of the Guide attempts to answer two core questions against the background of intellectual property (IP)'s becoming increasingly important in corporate competitiveness, namely, "What changes are taking place in the current IP legal services market?" and "What kind of IP lawyers are companies looking for?"

In respect of the second question, the Guide concluded from its research that what businesses truly value today, apart from a lawyer's ability to win a case, also include his capacity to comprehend business, understand technology, anticipate risks, and provide crucial advice. And on the basis of professional experience, industry influence, and value creation capabilities, the Guide arrived at a list of 54 best performing lawyers after in-depth studying 350-plus outstanding IP lawyers, reviewing 1,126 typical cases, and collecting feedback from over 500 corporate clients, with the support of official data from the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and the Supreme People's Court of China.
