China & Austria Sign Renewed MOU on IP Cooperation
On 8 July 2026, the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and the Austrian Patent Office (APO) signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on intellectual property (IP) cooperation in Geneva, marking the 40th anniversary of bilateral partnership between the two offices.
The memorandum, signed by CNIPA commissioner Mr. Shen Changyu and APO president Mr. Stefan Harasek, focuses on deepening cooperation in areas such as the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) and exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of IP, with a view to further promoting mutual understanding of the respective IP systems and facilitating efficient protection of innovations for Chinese and Austrian companies in each other's markets.
